Top 10 Apps to Increase Productivity in Your Business

Life is busier than ever these days. In an effort to help us navigate jam-packed days and long to-do lists, many fantastic apps and tools have been created to help us on our way. There are so many to choose from. The ones that you decide to use will very much depend on you and your business’s specific needs.

Here are 10 of my favourite apps. They all have simple video tutorials to show you how to get started, but I’m happy to help if you need more guidance on any particular tools. 

Grammarly is a free writing app to make online writing clear and effective. It highlights spelling and grammar on email, Twitter, LinkedIn, Messenger and Word. A Chrome extension and MS plug are available too.  

Cost: Free version available, as well as a Premium (£9.82 per month) and Business (£10.53 per month) plan.

LastPass is a password manager that allows you to generate strong passwords and store encrypted passwords online. You can also organise passwords into folders and share them securely.

 Cost: Free version available, as well as a Premium (£2.30 per month) and Families (£3.07 per month) plan.

Zoom is a video conferencing app. It allows you to ‘meet’ people virtually either by video, audio-only or both. The basic plan has a 40-minute time limit and holds up to 100 participants.

Cost: Free version available, as well as a Pro (£11.99 per month), Business (£15.99 per month) and Enterprise (£15.99 per month) plan.

Trello is a project management app that organises your projects into boards. You can create boards to show you what’s being worked on, who’s working on what, and where something is in a process. You can also add deadlines and attachments to each task and project, as well as share boards with team members.

Cost: Free version available, as well as a Business Class (£8.41 per month) and Enterprise (£17.54 per month) plan.

Buffer is a social media scheduling app. It allows you to draft and schedule posts across Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and Pinterest.

Cost: Free version available, as well as a Pro (£12.63 per month), Premium (£54.74 per month) and Business (£83.37 per month) plan.

Canva is a creative design app. It can be used to create logos, business cards, menus, flyers and social media posts branded for your business. It comes with thousands of easy to use templates and pictures.

Cost: Free version available, as well as a Pro (£8.99 per month) and Enterprise (£24.00 per month) plan.

Loom allows you to make quick videos using a lightning-fast video recorder capable of capturing your screen, webcam, and microphone. There’s a Chrome extension available which allows the whole process to be completed quickly and easily. You can then instantly share the video with a simple link that can be password protected.

Cost: Free version available, as well as a Pro (£3.37 per month) and a Team and Company plan which are coming soon.  

Doodle is a free tool that allows you to easily create a Doodle poll in minutes and send it off to your participants to let them choose the best time to meet. You can also create Doodle polls for surveys, questionnaires, or to book appointments.

Cost: Free version available.

Clips is an iOS app for making and sharing fun videos with text, special effects, graphics and more. With a few taps, you can create and send a video message or tell a quick story with artistic filters, animated text, music, emoji, and fun stickers featuring characters from Star Wars, Disney Pixar and more.

Cost: Free version available.

Facebook Mobile Studio is an app for making great mobile ads from your phone. Complicated software and expensive hardware aren’t necessary. This app comes with easy how-to guides and recommended apps.
